Profile on Steven Neate

Brief History:
Steven started racing like most youngsters, following in his fathers footsteps. His father, John Neate, was also a very capable rider at National level. Steven spent his youth growing up in the motorcycle paddock and it was only a matter of time before he would start racing.
Steven started racing like many of the current top riders, on mini motos. Starting at 11 years old, by the time he was 13 he had won the Southern British championship and enjoyed many race wins in the National British championship.
After 3 years in mini moto, Steve took the step upto 125cc racing. Starting at club level he claimed 2nd place in both club and super club championships. In 2003 he moved onto the British 125cc scene, scoring a 2nd place podium in his debut season before being selected as one of only two riders to ride for the Redbull Honda Racing 125cc team in 2004.
Two years in British 125cc and it was time to move up the ladder again! In 2005 he rode for Trucklinks Honda in the British Supersport championship, perhaps the most tightly contested 600cc domestic series. Steven established himself well and on the back of some good results landed a contract to race in both Britain & Spain for supersport 600 teams, as well as competing in the World Championship Supersport race at Silverstone.
Steven is delighted to have joined Gearlink Kawasaki for 2008, in which he will contest the British Supersport series, and he firmly belives that this is his best chance for success yet.
